Chynna is a Filipino-American creative and brand strategist for the beauty, wellness, and lifestyle industries. She was raised in Hollywood, Los Angeles, and earned a BA in Marketing Management from UC San Diego. These days, She's working remotely while exploring life in Asia. She's open to full-time and contract Creative Strategist, Brand Strategist, and Copywriter roles.
1. What did you want to be growing up?
An architect.
2. What was your first job, and what did it teach you?
I was a barista. It taught me patience and how to handle pressure. And to be compassionate towards service workers.
3. If you could leave a message to your past self, what would it be?
Be kind to your mind.
4. What's your favourite animated film?
"From Up on Poppy Hill" (2011) and "Kung Fu Panda" (2008).
5. Having worked at Vogue Philippines, what's your favorite issue?
The "Apo Whang-Od" April 2023 issue will always be a classic. It redefined my beauty standards.
6. What’s your personal motto these days?
It hasn't changed in years. "I am loved, therefore, I am safe."
7. What’s the best career decision you've made?
I'm young, I have more 'best' decisions to make! But from majoring in Marketing Management, to pioneering the copywriting for Vogue Philippines, then joining an ad agency, etc.. I think trusting the process and getting my experience along the way is the 'best decision' in motion.
8. What’s one ambition you’ve kept quiet until now?
To have my own art solo exhibition.
9. What’s one thing you can't travel without?
Halls candy or some type of gum.
10. When do you feel most like yourself?
When my nervous system is calm and I'm feeling relaxed.
11. What was the best gift you ever received?
Unconditional love from the most loving relationship I've ever known. And a white gold bracelet.
12. If you were a TV show character, who would you be and why?
I think I'd be Rachel Green from Friends, minus her relationship with Ross. I relate to the way she talks to herself when she's alone, her playfulness, and her growth trajectory. I'd also be Akane from Oshinoko, she's hardworking and soft at the same time.
13. How do you pull yourself out of a creative block?
I take a 20-minute walk.
14. What’s something you've been loving to do lately?
Documenting little parts of me on my YouTube channel! I love it, it's honestly just so fun.
15. If you could work from anywhere for a month, where would you go?
Ooo, definitely either Hong Kong or Busan.
16. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Ever since I was a kid, I've always answered a cheesy lasagna. I still think that's my answer but I'm also leaning towards a Shoyu Ramen from Mendokoro Ramenba, Makati City.
17. What is one song you know all the lyrics to?
"Chiquitita" by ABBA.
18. What does success look like to you right now?
Success looks like not worrying about how much dinner or rent was, and having a healthy gut.
19. How do you spend your Sundays?
Because I work from home, Sundays are either for going out to brunch, farmer's markets, and walking, or staying in to cook and binge anime or sitcoms.

Calm. Relaxed.
